Are Tight Chest Pain And Dizziness A Cause For Concern?

I have had really tight chest pains, I cough profusely, and I've been dizzy. I went to my doctor and he implied that I have an upper respiratory infection. However, he said he would like to see me again in a few days. I should add that I did get x-rays done. Is it bad that he wants to see me back? Or is this just a procedure?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, these symptoms are definitely a matter of concern.
By your history and description, possibility of pneumonia or bronchitis is more.
So if you are not improving with routine medicines forward upper respiratory tract infection (URTI), you will be definitely need chest x ray to rule out pneumonia and PFT (pulmonary function test) to rule out bronchitis.. This is the reason why he called you for follow up and plan for chest x ray if not improving in symptoms.
So don't worry, if you are not having feeling good or symptoms worsen then immediately consult him.
You may need higher antibiotic and inhaled treatment.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
