Are Thinning Of Eye Lashes And Redness Of Eyes Related?

I am a 42 yr. old woman. Within the last year or two my hair has been thinning. Recently, I notice even my eyelashes are thinning. May be unrelated but over the last 2 mos. or so my eyes have been very red in the morning and when I flush them they seem to improve but throughout the day they become very red again. I am going to make an appt. very soon but I am just wondering if these could be related or what might be going on?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having thinning of the eyelashes associated with redness of the eyes. This can be because of blepharitis, inflammation of the eyelid margin. The treatment of the condition is by use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Thank you
