Are These Symptoms Of Viral Fever?

My two grandsons have been sick for one week,and he has been seen and was told it was a virus because he had a fever and nothing can be done. Now he has a real bad cough! the 1 yr. old is coughing too and has yellow snot coming out of his nose but he has no fever.

He might need antibiotics, Chest Xray for further workup
