Are There Any Side Effects For Testosterone Cream?

Hello I just had a doctor prescribe testosterone cream to be applied twice daily with the pumps to be applied to each testicle. The pump bottle says Testosterone 200 mg/gm. Are there any side affects and is this a healthy product ? I am 61 and in good shape but do not have many morning erections and the doctor said that was not a good sign.

Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern.

Topical testosterone (cream) is used to treat men who have hypogonadism, a condition that interferes with a man’s ability to produce testosterone

The common side effects include redness, itching, burning, or hardened skin where the cream is applied. Breast swelling or tenderness; increased acne or hair growth, headache, depressed mood or changes in your sex drive can also occur. This may include loss of desire, inability to have or maintain an erection, or erections that happen too often.

Some men develop the need to urinate a lot more than usual, including during the night. You may feel an urgent need to urinate, even when your bladder isn’t full.

Hope this answers your query.
