Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have many nodes in my lungs ranging from 3 mm to 8 mm with emphysema I want to request biopsy while the radiologist wants to wait 3 month and do and ct scan I just wanna know if I can cancer what do u think my chances are of malignancy I just quit smoking after 20 years
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your lungs.
Lung nodules are usually the post infectious nodules, mostly the small nodules are non cancerous and because of previous infection like tuberculosis, pneumonia etc.
If the nodules are larger 20-30 mm or more they usually are cancerous. In your case it seems non cancerous too.
If their size changes rapidly they are cancerous too, that is why Radiology have put you on surveillance. My opinion is wait for two months to Repeat the CT or go for a FNAC test.
Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any questions further.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
