Are The Itchy Bumps That Are On The Scrotum, Penis And Between The Toes Are Scabies?

My skin recently started to itch and so my parents taught it was scabies cause my sister had scabies sometime back and so they bought a cream call rid to kill scabies. So the scabies manifestation was gone and then about 3 weeks later it was like the scabies came back but only thing this time it looked more complex. These itchy bumps came on my scrotum, penis, between my big toes and a little itch now and then on the rest of my body. But the itching is mostly on my scrotum and penis, i sometime wonder if this is a serious case of scabies or if it is something different. Please Doctors if you have a idea what it could be please reply.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for the itchy bumps that are on the scrotum, penis and between the toes are scabies.

In my opinion it appears to "Post scabies pruritus". In this condition there are eruptions along with moderate itching and in more aggravated cases there is appearance of more redness.

It is because of persistence of dead mite as casts under the skin which causes the type of allergic phenomenon as you are mentioning.

I suggest you to apply medium to high potency steroid cream like mometasone or fluticasone application over the very red areas. Additionally apply crotamiton cream over the rest of the area.

You can take can take by mouth the antihistamine like benadryl or loratadine by mouth.

Take care.

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

you might be suffering from scabies.
It will be better to give an application of permethrin.
Also give an anti histamine tablet.
This will control the itch.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.

And get the medication prescribed.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.
