Are The Dark Bruises Side Effects Of Opium Addiction?

My brother has developed these dark bruise-like spots all over his feet and legs. He has had them for about 2 years now. I have been looking on-line for possible reasons for this since he is not sickly. I found nunmerous people with the same issue that are on morphine, or oxycodone. My brother suffers from an opiate addiction so I am wondering if this could this be a side effect from the opiates.

No. Bruising is not an effect of narcotics. And the administration of narcotics such as injection are very likely to cause bruising.
