Hallow Dear, You have not mentioned what was the period of gestation. However, I will provide you information which will guide you for the termination of your pregnancy. Termination of pregnancy can very safely be done by Tab. Mifepristone followed after 24-48 hours by Tab. Misoprostol. The dose of Misoprostol up to 7 weeks of pregnancy is half than that between 7 - 9 weeks of pregnancy. Usually the abortion is complete within 3 days after last dose of Misoprostol. The completeness of abortion may be tested by ultrasonography. These medicines cause developmental abnormalities in the baby. Hence if they fail to terminate the pregnancy, the decision should not be reverted to continuation of the pregnancy; it should then be terminated by surgical procedure like MVA or so. These medicines are prescription medicines. They should have been taken only after doctors advice and prescription. In case of incomplete abortion, heavy bleeding can take place. So I would advise you to inform your Gynaecologist about the medicines you have taken and go for follow up visit 7 days after the last dose of Tab. Misoprostol. So the bottom line is that Mifepristone + Misoprostol combination you have taken is safe to terminate the pregnancy; however it is not a safe step to take without Obstetrician s advice.
