Are Symptoms Such As Loss Of Breath, Vertigo, Occasional Weakness And Exhaustion Common In Arrhythmia?
My mother has atrial fibrillation. There are heart problems on my dads side. And I ve developed an arrhythmia with occasional syncope, Loss of breath, vertigo and occasional weakness and exhaustion. It interfere witg my work so im on leave. My dr sent me for blood work to check my iron and thyroid. I had an ecg and an echo as well as 2 -24hr holter monitor all that were done when palpitations weren t present. They come and go but mostly they are a daily struggle. My dr since then has prescribed mr 10mg of cipralex and .25 mg of xanax sayin that im depressed and suffer from anxiety. Im not depressed in the least. Im actually happier than II have been before and don t suffer from racing heart only during exertion. Now I have seen the health care warning with cipralex and im hesitant to go on it ...
From your history it is difficult to say that you have arrhythmias ,as your ECG,Echo and holter were normal.I would suggest you to consider following work up 1.Get your stress test done to rule out ischaemia. 2.Get your thyroid function tests including free T3 3 .Get your serum vit B12 level done. If above all reports are normal you may focus in anxiolytic treatment. My best wishes.
