Are Swollen Lymph Nodes In Neck Due To Thyroid Nodule?
I have a thyroid nodule with 3 biopsies done at this time. 2 showed something called flats. I have a surgery coming up to remove thyroid gland. My lymph nodes are all swollen around my neck (front and back), sometimes I can not sleep on my back because my bottom of head feels swollen. apparently lymph nodes are not related to thyroid because they don t show anything other then being active, which as my specialist said, they show that they are fighting something. Everything started with pain in my neck which was moderate eventually severe. I am in a lot of pain but according to specialists, I should not be due to thyroid only. Have you come across anything like that? Have you seen a case like that? I don t know what to do but I was wondering if it could be metastasis that makes my lymph nodes be hard and hurt due to thyroid. Please help.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swollen lymph nodes in neck due to thyroid nodule . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query probably due to infection as the lymph nodes in neck can gets inflamed due to infections occurring in head and neck region and it is nothing abnormal and is a relatively common finding. But in your case the swelling is due to thyroid nodule . You need not to worry about it and should Consult endocrinologist for thyroid growth . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist neck problem. Gradually as the infection will subside the swelling of the lymph nodes will also resolve. You can do alternate warm and cool compresses .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
