Are Swelling In Mouth And Pain While Swallowing Suggestive Of Swollen Glands?

hello, my daughter has either swollen glands or lymphnods, how can i tell the difference? i can definetly see that something is swollen in her mouth,how can i tell which one it is? her left side is more swollen that her right,, it is hurting her when she swallows and she isnt able to eat that much. im planning to take her to the doctor this week, but is there anything that i can do to help her before i take her..

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swelling in mouth and pain while swallowing which could be due to reduced salivary secretion in salivary gland duct, swollen lymph nodes, salivary gland disorder or stiffness of jaw joints.

Need not to panic much. I would suggest you to visit oral physician once and get it examined. You should go for manual palpation test and can start medication or surgery as per prescription. Avoid spicy and sharp food substances. You should take numbing gel as well to relieve pain. Take diet rich in soft food and drink plenty of water and liquids. Do warm saline gargles. Apply warm compresses. Take proper course of antibiotics.
