Are Stomach Cramps During 35 Weeks Of Pregnancy A Cause For Concern?

Hi I m 35 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing contractions all the way up my belly with cramp like feeling in my lower abdomen and lower back for the last 3 days. I have been going through a lot of stress the last couple of days and am not sure if they are due to it. There is no signs of my mucus plug or any other fluids. My baby was breech last week of my check up, could these symptoms be due to baby getting into head down position? Is this something I should be worried about or is this normal?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Experiencing abdominal cramps could happen during 35 - 36 weeks of pregnancy and is generally termed as 'false labour pains'. These are also known as Braxton Hicks contractions. It should not cause any worry as it indicates your body is in the way of getting ready for the real thing.
Kindly be stress free and do not physically exert yourself. Drink good quantity of fluids and keep yourself well hydrated. Eat healthy and fibre rich foods so as to prevent constipation.
It is certainly not due to change in fetal position as by 35 to 36 weeks, fetus would maintain its position and does not change drastically.
Keep a watch on fetal movements and intactness of the membranes.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best and wish you a healthy outcome.
