Are Sinus Pressure, Cough And Nasal Congestion Signs Of Infection?

Cold/flu symptoms for about a week, sinus pressure, congestion, cough, perhaps mild fever at some points (didn't measure). I thought I had rounded the corner two days ago when noticing overall improvements but yesterday and today I have a white blister-looking thing on my right tonsil accompanied by quite a bit of pain when swallowing/coughing. The pain is definitely on the right side around what looks like a blister, the other side of my throat is in no pain. I also still have mild versions of the aforementioned cold symptoms.
I plan to go to urgent care tomorrow.

Cyst? Infection? Can I anticipate a round of antibiotics or is this more serious?

Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

It is good decision that you have decided to visit doctor tomorrow..

Let me know you it seems to be acute tonsillitis with upper respiratory tract infection ...

Your work up needed as follow ...
-Throat swab
-CBC
-Auscultation
-X ray PNS

According to reports further work up planned

You need to given antibiotic course and decongestant drugs course ...

Avoid excess spicy foods

You are mentioning blister formation over tonsil that should be checked during posterior pharynx examination and if with antibiotic not resolving and seems abscess then need drainage

Consult otorhinolaryngologist for examination and discuss all these with him

Take care

Hope your concern solved
