Are Redness In Eye And White Bump Near The Cornea Suggestive Of Ocular Herpes?

Hi I am a contact wearer and my eyes were bothering me today and I feel like it may be because my contacts are old but I only have redness now in one eye and there s a tiny white bump near my cornea, I m really concerned it could be occular herpes. Any ideas what it could be?

Hi there..I would advise you stop wearing the contacts for a couple of days till the bump resolves and redness is gone. Are your eyes itchy or watering? The tiny white bump could be anything...viral, bacterial or fungal . One wouldnt know until one investigates. So, go to the opthalmlogist, who will examine your eye, also take a sterile eye swab or scraping of cornea and send it for culture and sensitivity. Till then cortisol eye drops will suffice. take care
