Are Recurrent Eczema And Blister Lip Signs Of Elisa?

Im 36 yr old female. I had unprotected sex 3 years ago (twice with the same man). I later found out he s an iv drug user. I tested 9 months after the exposure (not in the US so it was first generation). My first hiv Elisa was inconclusive and second one was negative. They also did a wb which was negative too. I did test positive for hsv2. After 2.5 years, I did a third generation Elisa hiv 1/O/2 Wichita was negative. My problem is that I get opportunistic infections all the time. Mouth ulcers a few times, recurrent eczema, two eye styes, big blister on my lip, very dry flaky legs (like dandruff). I can t put this behind me since these things keep happening. I m worried that for some reason I m not testing positive due to genetic variability of the virus. What can I do to put my mind at ease? I have children and I m terrified of not being there for them as they grow up.

Hello dear,

Thank you for your contact to health care magic.

I read and understand your concern.

I am Dr Arun Tank answering your concern.

No, you are surely negative for the HIV.

Multiple times tested HIV test results are always right. I advice you should not worry for the HIV results. It will be surely negative.

But if your worry is not stopping than you can get yourself tested for HIV with HIV DNA PCR. This is the gold standard test for the HIV and it will detect it for surely.

HIV is not the only reason for immunocomprmise disease. There are other diseases also which is responsible for the immunocomprmise infection. So you should examine yourself for such a disease.

Please maintains good hygiene as it is the key to prevent future further infections caused by other agents.

There are no genetic variability in HIV virus that makes him undetectable.

HIV won't spread to the children, it will only when child exposes to the body fluids. Though your are surely negative for HIV please prevent exposure to the child. By this way your child will be protected in the future.

I will be happy to answer your further concern on bit.ly/DrArun.

Thank you,
Dr Arun Tank
