Are Pin Pricking Symptoms With A Sore Throat Due To Infection?

Hi, I'm John, 26yo, 200lb, 6' tall. I've been having pin pricks under my tongue and a little in my mouth for 2 days, it's a burning sensation. My throat is also a little sore. All this happened right after I ate some old expired walnuts, fresh fruits and raw vegetables and black tea. I started getting a weird sensation in my mouth and it's gotten worse. Is this just a simple infection? I've been taking cefzon. thanks.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms it seems that you have got an allergic reaction to any of the foods that you have taken and it is only causing tingling and burning in mouth..
It is not an infection and you need not to take Cefzon as it is a broad spectrum antibiotic that will treat bacterial infections..

Nothing to worry, take anti-allergic medicine like Cetrizine or fexofenadine [allegra] or diphenhydramine [benadryl] any one of these available in your location.
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller Ibuprofen.
Gargle with cold water and suck on ice cubes.
Drink plenty of water to faster wean off the effect of allergen.

Gradually the burning and pin prick sensation will subside in 2 to 3 days and if still it does not resolve consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated...
