Are Passing Yellow Stool With Mucus And Fecal Urgency Suggestive Of Having IBS?

I have GERD and have gone through many endoscopies and a colonoscopy. The last time I had a colonoscopy was in 2013 because of pain in the mid/lower left quadrant of my abdomen. My GI Doctor thought I had celiac disease because of my yellow, loose stools but that came back negative. He then diagnosed me with IBS but I feel that he may have been wrong. I am now, more than ever, noticing a fishy odor in my stools accompanied with a heightened sense of urgency to use the restroom. Along with yellow, loose stools, I have a lot of bile/mucus when I wipe. I am frustrated because I just get told that I have IBS but I feel that is something much worse.

Thank you very much for contacting healthcare magic.

You have chronic history of loose stool and more mucus secreation that may be because of irritable bowel syndrome.

In irritable bowel syndrom change a stool consistency and frequency. More amount of mucus secreation and gas formation occurs.
Abdominal ultra sonography is normal in irritable bowel syndrom.

Intestinal infection may cause this type of symptoms.
Intestinal inflammation may cause this type of problems.
Stool examination test is helpful for further diagnosis.

Proper history and physical examination give exact idea about disease.
Consent a gastroenterologist for further diagnosis.

I hope my guidance is helpful to you.
Take care.
Thank you.
