Are Painful Urination And Blood In Urine Suggestive Of Tumor?

I am 70 years old and have been having trouble painful urination and not much. This morning I notice blood in my undies (briefs). Was told by doctors it could me prostate gland enlargement or a tumor. I am scared.....a tumor? He wants more tests done.

Prostate gland enlargement due to cancer or benign changes (non cancerous changes), both of these can cause blood in the urine and difficulty with urination.

BPH (benign prostatic enlargement) is more common than cancer. This means that it is likely that the changes may be due to this condition but cancer would still need to be ruled out by a biopsy of the prostate.
