Are Nausea, Lightheadednes And Upset Stomach Normal After Weaning Off Citalopram?

I was on 30 mg Citalopram for approx 2 years and have gradually weaned myself off recently. My last 10 mg was taken evey other day until I ran out a few days ago. Since then I have felt generally unwell with feelings of nausea, light-headedness, slight dizziness, very realistic dreams, upset stomach and wanting to go to bed early. How long are these symptons likely to last and are they normal?

Hello
You were addicted ( using ) of "CITALOPRAM"30 mg for 2 years and now weaned off ( 10 mg just one day ago after a gap of many days ).
You are having nausea, light-headedness, dizziness , realistic dreams , upset stomach and dejected.
These symptoms may be due to these reasons , these include:
1 Withdrawal syndrome of CITALOPRAM , if it due to this , you have to wait for 1-2 months . This is because citalopram is an anti depressant so it will take some time.
2 Depression is the another cause . As you were taking citalopram for depression . Still you may have depression ,because all these symptoms are an indication of depression. Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by a "PSYCHIATRIST ".
3 Tension ( anxiety) is another such cause of such symptoms.
In my opinion consult a psychiatrist and get his opinion.
Hope this will help you.
