Are Muscle Pain, Exhaustion And Flu Symptoms Signs Of HIV?

Roughly 3 months ago, I had protected sex with an HIV positive person who has a zero viral count. By all counts we were safe. Three months later, I am feeling muscle aches, run down, flu like, without fever and no swollen lymph nodes. Is it possible to show signs of HIV that early and is it possible to NOT have swollen lymph nodes?

HIV is not very likely with these symptoms. They are usual symptoms of common viral infections. The HIV primary infection may present even one month after exposure, so HIV-related symptoms are possible three months later (primary infection symptoms only). The most common HIV primary infection presentation is a mononucleosis like infection with sore throat, swollen lymph nodes and protracted clinical course.

Take into account that protected sexual intercourse with a patient with zero viral count makes the risk of infection almost non-existent. Even with unprotected intercourse the risk would be very low.

If you'd like to be certain though, you'll have to do a test now and in 3 more months. A negative HIV test in 3 months would make it 100% certain that no transmission occurred.
