Are Mood Swings A Symptom Of Bipolar Disorder?

Hi, I m a rising college junior. I was diagnosed with depression recently and have been on remeron 7.5 for the past month. While it has helped with my general moodiness, I have been having these highly energetic episodes when I feel extremely confident (which would soon give way to even worse depression) for the past 2-3 days or so. Even before my diagnosis, I had these overproductive episodes, but they were not as intense. Now the mood swings are unbearable. Could I be bipolar?
