Are Missed Periods A Sign Of Pregnancy Despite Irregular Periods?

My last period was July 18-22. I took my week of placebo pills and stopped taking my BC pills after the end of that period. On August 11 my partner and I had unprotected sex. My period was due on August 15 but I am normally irregular and can be a couple days late or early. It is August 29 and my period has still not come. I've always gotten my period even when on the BC pills. I took a pregnancy test and tested negative on August 27. Is there a possibility that I am pregnant and the hcg levels are too low to detect with a urine test at the moment or is my period skipping a month because I stopped the pills?

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. I have gone through your query and would like to offer my opinion. In the current scenario, it is possible that your hCG levels are low to be detected through the urine test or the period may have been missed due to hormone imbalance. To clarify, you have to get the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres which are very sensitive and specific followed by a trans-vaginal sonogram. Further management can be planned accordingly. Hope this helps.
