Are Late Period And Heightened Sense Of Smell Signs Of Pregnancy?

My husband had a vasectomy 5 years ago, but my period is 1 week late and I have had an extremely heightened sense of smell for the last couple weeks (just like with my first pregnancy). Last night, the smell of nachos that I used to love made me feel sick. I'm 31. Could I possibly be pregnant or is there another more likely condition that could cause this?

Hi,
Since you did not have any accidental pregnancy all these years, conception is a remote possibility in the current scenario. Sometimes, a delayed period due to whatever reason it may be, can cause pregnancy like symptoms and these are actually pre-menstrual symptoms. I would suggest a home pregnancy test with a fresh early morning sample of urine to exclude/confirm pregnancy. If you would like to have a more conclusive diagnosis, you may go for the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres. Hope this helps.
