Are Itchy And Painful Spots On Palms Related To Lupus?

I have been diagnosed with Lupus about 18 months ago. I have some spots that have appeared on the palms of my hand. Hello and welcome to HCM,

I read your query and understood your concern.

Yes the condition you described can be associated with SLE. Mottled erythema can be seen in palms and soles associated with ulceration and blistering. ALthough it is not a very common condition, and your description of itching and blistering also matches with pompholyx a type of eczema of palms and soles.

I both the condition though, treatment is same. If such a case would come to me I's advise to apply midpotent steroid like mometasone or halobetasol once at night, and profuse moisturizing during day.
Also dont scratch much. To relieve itching, take oral antiallergics like loratadine/ cetrizine twice daily.

Also apply sunscreen while going out over the affected areas

Your lesion should clear in 2 weeks

Hope I helped
