Are High Temperature And Impaired Behavior In A Child A Concern?

My son has a high temp and was laughing sort-of inappropriately. He is five. I do not know his temp as my thermometer is broken. It seems he may have just broken his fever because he was covered in sweat but I washed him down with cool water and put a cool cloth on his head. Should I be worried? He is not seating now and has stopped laughing.
