Are Hallucinations, Depression And Nervousness Side Effects Of Bactrim?

I ve just completed taking prescription of Bactrim for local infection on my finger. I ve experienced side effects of hallucinations mild but disturbing nonetheless. Also depression and nervousness. I wasn t aware of an allergy to this medication, but can t come up with any other explanation for the above. My question: how long should it take to eliminate the medication from my system and relieve the depression and nervousness?

Thanks you for asking this question. I have undergone through your question. I understand your concern. Bactrim can cause neurological side effects but it is rare. As you are telling that you have completed your treatment, so there is no need to worry now. You will recover from these symptoms very soon. There is no need to do any intervention. Even if it persist for long time then consult a psychiatrist.
