Are Dizziness, Weight Gain And Fatigue Indicative Of Thyroid Problems?

Problems with high blood pressure - fluxuating up/down. Dizziness, loss of balance. Heart rate fluxuating up/down. Feelings of panic attacks. Was on meds for blood pressure and anxiety, however I gained excessive weight , had problems with bowels, memory, lack of energy, just felt I couldn t get it together. Stopped taking all meds. Just had blood work done-wandering if it could be thyroid problems.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern.
Yes dizziness, weight gain and fatigue are symptoms of hypothyroidism.
Thyroid hormone maintain energy metabolism and regulate metabolism of our body.
Decreased in the thyroid hormone lead to decreased metabolism of the body lead to fat deposition, weight gain, decreased bowel movement (constipation), fatigue due to lack of energy.
Also cause edema, irregular menstruation.
Dizzziness may be due to hypertension.

So do not worry.
Do testing of thyroid hormone, consult with the endocrinologist and take the treatment of thyroid disorder.

Hope this may help you.
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
