Are Dizziness, Drowsiness And Choked Feeling In Throat Side Effects Of Amitriptyline?

Hello,I recently started taking Amitriptyline (25mg) on Sunday night. Since then I have been feeling dizzy and have been extremely drowsy during the day. I have even been having trouble breathing and even woke up in the middle of the night last night with my throat feeling like it s been closing up. Are these normal side effects or should I contact my doctor? Thank you,Brianna

Hello.The symptoms which you refer are adverse effects habitual related to Amitriptyline intake.Adverse effects decrease with the passage of days, but if your symptoms are severe, your doctor should consider replacing the drug.
