Are Dizziness, Abdominal Pain And Fever Side Effects Of Birth Control Pills?

Me and my girlfriend had unprotected sex 3 days back and she took postpone72 tablet within 24 hours.. For the past 2 days she has mild fever, feeling giddu, feeling restless, abdominal pain and light burning sensation when urinating. Can you please let us know if these are side effects of the emergency contraceptive and what can we do about it?

hellow, welcome to DHCM. I'm Dr.Fahad Khan. I have read your case and understood it and I'll help you in the management.
well the ECPs do cause some sypmtoms (headche,breast tenderness,early or delayed menstrual cycle) but in your case i think it's not the emergency contraceptive pill that is causing these symptoms. This could be a UTI (urinary tract infection) which can occur after unprotected sexual intercourse. Fever and burning urination and typical signs of UTI. But investigations are required for definitive diagnosis to be made. You need to have the following investigations done :
1) Complete Blood Picture
2) Urine RE
3) X-Ray KUB
Meanwhile start taking some good pain killer like any NSAID( paracetamol,diclofenac,ketorolac etc)
And kindly get back to me after you have done these investigations.
