Are Diarrhoea, Pelvic Pain And Delay In Menstruation Symptoms Of Ectopic Pregnancy?

I had unprotected sex on July 29th. Expected my period on July 29th, but it came on Aug 5th (I was spotting Aug 2-3). Usually my periods are 5 days in length with heavy flow early on, but this one was about 8 days with moderate flow throughout, some clots. I was fairly regular with 28 days in my cycle. Didn t have sex since then but now I am 11 days (and counting) late with my period (was expecting it (9/2). Took a pregnancy test, came out negative. Experiencing on/off mild pelvic pain, had extreme pelvic pain during bowel movement. Had diarrhea last night (9/12) No sore breasts or nausea. I had removal of an ovarian cyst March 2010, I m currently 19. Is it possible to have an ectopic pregnancy?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Since you had the intercourse at the time of your expected period, you cannot get pregnant. This is because ovulation occurs two weeks before the onset of the next period and this is the fertile phase when conception occurs. Your symptoms suggest hormone disturbance. The pain during bowel movement can be due to some infection, hard stool or endometriosis. Diarrhea can be due to prostaglandin release with an impending period. A sonogram of the pelvis should help plan further management. Hope this helps.
