Are Bumps On The Knee Scar A Normal Occurrence?

Hi I Got a gash on my knee a few weeks ago(about 5 or 6) and had it stitched up. There is a small, hard bump at the top of the scar that seems a bit more sensitive than the rest of the scar. Is this normal? Will it go away time? Or will it need to be lanced?

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Thank you for posting your at healthcaremagic.com

It looks like a hypertrophic scar or keloids. Hypertrophic scar is excessive scar tissue that is raised above the level of the wound but remains within the confines of the original area of injury is termed hypertrophic scarring and Keloids is type of scar, that extend beyond the original wound area.

Deep massage with warm oil can help in preventing further scars.

If it is a keloid or hypertonic scar you can consult a cosmetologist or dermatologist.

Best wishes
