Are Body Chills, dry Cough, sore Throat With Fever Symtomps Of HIV?

Hello! I am a male 30 years old.I had protected vaginall sex and received unprotected oral sex for 2-3 min with a not known hiv status girl. 12 days(Jan 3 2014) after the exposure I had fever(beginning with strong chills at 5 in the morning and the chills were so strong that I lost the conscience for some seconds after urinating at the bathroom) reaching not more than 99.5 F(37.8 C max) lasting only 3 days(going up and down after some sweats and tylenol), pain on the body especially at the lower back lasting for 6-7 days after the beginning of the fever(the pain being reduced slowly),dry cough beginning from day 4 after the fever day and lasting until now for more than 14 days already, headache coming and going and very mild sore throat for the first 4-5 days and pain in the ear in the day 7 beginning from first fever day. No swollen gland, no rash, no relevant fatigue(normal flu fatigue), no congestion, no diarrhea.

Is that fever a typical ARS fever? In fact I sweated a lot to decrease the temp(6 times in two days). Could the temp have increased if did not sweat so much?

Is that more a flu, a cold or an ars?

Must I do the hiv test?

Hi there, although chances of ARS is less as compared to cold for above symptoms but as your symptoms developed approximately 2 weeks after exposure so I would advise you for a HIV test now and once after 6 months and please keep precaution in future.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.
