Are Antibiotics Sufficient To Treat Joster Harpic Skin Disease?

Hi,
My mom is suffering from joster harpic skin disease.It is the complex one.she is taking anti biotics for ten days now but the pain still persist but lesser than what it was earlier.how many more days will it take for her to get well completely.she is under medication right now.
Please advise

Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
It seems you mis-spelt the condition Herpes zoster. Its a kind of viral infection that produces blisters along particular
nerve trunk distribution.
I would suggest you consult a dermatologist at the earliest for
proper management.
Usually i recommend oral week long course of valacyclovir 1gram ( according to weight and creatinine clearance) and cream containing mupirocin for local application.
Oral analgesics can be used as required. Additionally, vitamin B 12 and gabapentine tablets should be taken for few months.
