Are Opioids Different From Opiates?

I would like a definite answer to this, are opioids and opiates different? Also would like to know if methadone is a opioid or opiate as well as Hydrocodone . One last question, what category would both drugs fall under on a urine drug screen? Thank you for your time, this is a very helpful tool!

Different words for same drugs. Hydrocodone, methadone, heroin, are examples of opiates (the preferred term). They would all be positive for opiate screen on the urine test.
