Are Midrin And Imitrex The Right Medications For Persistent Migraines?

My 36 year old daughter has suffered from migraines since she was in the second grade. She also has depression and anxiety issues. She has been prescribed midrin & imitrex. Can these two be taken at the same time or alternate one then the other? She takes Prozac for depression and clonapin for her anxiety. Thank you.

Thanks for asking at Healthcare magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
Midrin and imitrex can be use during acute attack only, there is no harmful interaction between them.Especially imitrex are not meant for prophylaxis.
For Prophylaxis she needs betablockers like inderol or anti seizure drug like valproic acid or amitryptylline.
Avoid triggers, Do regular aerobic excersize 30 minutes a day five days a week, do muscle relaxation excersizes like meditation or yoga.
Hope it helps best.
Take your best care and of your daughter.
