Are Betnovate And Hydrocortisone Effective For Severe Anal Itching?

I have severe eczema and am in a highly stressful time in my life. I have developed an anal itch which I am almost certain is linked to my eczema, today I visited the doctor but was too embarrassed to ask, he prescribed a betnovate and hydrocortisone ointment, can I use either on this itch?
