Are BCG Vaccinations For Both Arms Of An Infant Safe?

My baby is 6 weeks old. He has got BCG vaccine lump on both the arms which normally should only be on one arm. Upon checking with the hospital they informed us that the first attempt on left arm was not affective and therefore they had administered the vaccine on the right arm as well. Is this ok ? Will this have any adverse affect on the health of the baby ?

Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
There is no harm in giving vaccine in both arms. However it should not be given in less than 3 months interval in the same arm because of risk of Lymphadenitis.
Hope it helps best.
Take your best care.

Dr Ejaz
