Any Suggestions For A Rash That Developed On Operative Knee After Total Knee Replacement ?

My husband had Total knee replacement 11/19 and has done well, but developed a rash on operative knee at 4 1/2 weeks. Hydrocortisone hasn't helped, and a visit to family doctor, who prescribed an anti fungal/anti inflamitory, hasn't helped either. Now, even tho doc doesn't know what it is, he has prescribed a Medrol pack. . . Any suggestions???

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The rash on the knee after the replacement surgery can be due to allergy to the antiseptic lotions used or the drapes used during the surgery. It usually subsides in a week with treatment.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
