Hi,When hiatal hernias are symptomatic, acid reflux usually produces the symptoms. If the hernia itself is causing chest discomfort or other symptoms, surgery may be necessary.Surgery is necessary only in the minority of patients with complications of GERD despite aggressive treatment with proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).So you kindly take regularly Proton Pump Inhibitors like Omeprazole or Lansaprazole or Pantaprazole orby neutralizing acid with antacids or blocking acid secretion with H2-receptor blocking drugs like Ranitidine. In case you are overweight, weight loss may help reflux symptoms. Hope it helps.
