Any Medication To Prepone Or Postpone Periods?

Hi, My normal menstrual cycle is towards the end of the month .However I am getting married on 27th of November. Also right after that There are various religious functions etc. Hence I do not want my periods to be there during 25 Nov to 16 Dec. Can you please suggest medicine that I may use to prepone or postpone so that I do not get my menses in the given duration.

Hi,
You can use either Medroxyprogesterone acetate or Norethisterone if you do not have any known allergies to post pone or advance your period. To advance a period, you would need to take the medication starting early in the cycle soon after your last menstrual period and use it for at least for 10 days. For postponement, you should initiate treatment at least a week before the due date of your next period and continue for as long as needed. Postponement is always more successful than advancement. Please get further instructions from your consultant. Take care.
