Any Chance To Get Pregnant With Unprotected Sex Even After Taking Nordette?

Hello Doctors, I had my menstruation last december 17-22, 2013. On december 31, 2013 10:00AM, we had unprotected sex with my boyfriend but he came outside me. but before that round, he already came that's why i'm afraid of pre-cum.
On January 1, 2014, 1:30PM i took 4 tablets of nordette (white pill) and another 4 tablets 1:30AM
I had my "withdrawal bleeding" on January 7, 2014 but only for 2 days and it's very few.

Questions:
When will my real menstruation occur?
Any chance of being pregnant?

Thank you and more powers

Hi , Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar here. I welcome welcome you to HCM VIRTUAL CLINIC. I have gone through your question, and I think I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

You are absolutely right about your concern about pre ejaculation secretions. It is known to contain some sperms. So with unprotected sex activity chance to get pregnant is always there.

As you have already taken 4 pills 2 times within 72 hours of unprotected sex act, you have properly used it as emergency contraceptive.

As it is well known that after such dose of hormone, there is erratic bleeding. It can be early or delayed, heavy or scanty. As you have started your periods , it certainly means you are not pregnant.

Even then you can confirm by doing urine pregnancy test on morning's first sample of urine. In case of doubt blood beta HCG test and USG will be of help.

If test is negative, then you need not worry at all.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.

Hi, Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar here. I welcome you to HCM VIRTUAL CLINIC. I have gone through your question, and I think I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) You are absolutely right about the chance of getting pregnant as pre ejaculation secretion does contain sperms. Also , you have rightly taken high dose progesterone tablets within 24 hours of unprotected sex act.

3 ) After use of such tablets as emergency contraceptive, you can experience erratic bleeding as a withdrawal. It can be early or late, heavy or scanty.

4 ) If you have had bleeding on 7th January, then you need not worry. It can be your menses. But if you have any doubts about it, please get mornings first sample of urine tested for pregnancy, if you still have doubts then blood beta HCG test and USG will be of help.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar.
