Any Alternative To Uterus Removal And Sutures In Bladder?
hi I jst went to my obgyn today n was told I need my uterus removed an suchers for my bladder . I am very upset over this and was wondering if there are any alternitives ,as he also wants to do this through my ab.I have been reading a lot via internet that says there is no reason for such invasive way of removing my uterus and repairing my bladder. I have had 5 children my youngest being 21 , three were by c-sec n two natural. last year he performed a dnc n
and an ablasion due to heavy bleeding and a lot of pain. I have several fibroids the largest being 4cm. Is a hysterectomy really needed ? I wld also like to know if this surgery will affect my sex life, without a uterus how do you still orgasm ?

If the size of uterus is big then Hysterectomy through vaginal route is not possible.
As you just mentioned that you have multiple fibroid in the uterus, it's likely that size of your uterus is big so the need of abdominal approach.
Good news for you is that removal of uterus is perfectly okay and will not affect your sex life and uterus has nothing to do with orgasm.

Thanks for query.hysterectomy is always a last resort.but as you mentioned heavy bleeding and multiple fibroids not responding to D&C .suturing of bladder I did not understand why.do you have a fistula? And coming to invasive .now a days hysterectectomy is done per vaginally ,laproscopically but all that depends on indication.
Sexual life can be normal even if uterus is removed as orgasm is related to clitoris not uterus.even intercourse is possible as vagina is kept intact.you can always have second opinion with another gynaecologist about hysterectomy.I can't comment on it without the complete reports of patient.regards
