Ankle Sprained And Swollen With A Painful Lump Above Ankle Bone. What Is It?
Hi there I rolled my ankle two days ago pretty badly I have very bad ankle. I'm a volleyball player and this is not the first time I sprained this ankle. Around the ankle it is quit swollen but that's normal and I'm quite used to all that. But on the inside of my leg about 6 cm above the ankle bone I have a bump underneath the skin it's not very big but it is extremely painful when I touch it. I have never had this? Help?
Welcome to HCM. Pain, swelling is due to soft tissue injury with muscle sprain. Painful lump might be due to collection of blood inside after soft tissue injury. Start to apply ice 3 to 5 times a day. Take nsaid with serratiopeptidase. Local application of nsaid gel will be helpful. Apply elasto bandage(4 inch.) on ankle during movement. Try to keep your leg raised as much as possible to reduce swelling faster. Avoid weight bearing on that leg. Consult your orthopedician for further guidance and medical management.
