Anemia, Pain In Groin Hip Area. Reason?

I am a 42 year old pre Kindergarten teacher of 18 year. My health is great with an exception of suffering from anemia. This afternoon for the first time, I began to experience a bad pain in my grion hip area on left side. It hurts bad for me to lift my leg to get in the car or in/out of bed. I have been losing my hands to lift my leg. First time I have ever had this problem. What could it be.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
If I were your treating doctor for this acute left groin pain ( with anemia), I would come up with these possibilities , these includes.
1 Kidney stone ( or stone in anywhere from kidney , ureter, urinary bladder & urethra). Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of abdomen with emphasis over both kidneys.
2 Left ovarian cyst or salpingogitis ( inflammation of left tube) . Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of left side of ovary with tube .
3 Since you are an anemic patient so may be some disease on the left side of intestine. Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of whole of abdomen.
In my opinion consult a gynecologist and get his opinion first of all.
Good luck.Dr.het
