Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Me and husband regularly have anal sex a. We always wear a condom. However I was interested in buying an anal douche.
But my question is, are they OK to use? Are they safe? I've heard that daily use of enema is not safe. It can cause yeast infections and other disease. If I use anal douche and squeeze a little amount of water inside every time, will it be safe?
I've looked up many things on this but I can't get a clear answer.
If I cant use it daily, what should I do to keep myself clean?
I understand your concern. However, having anal sex is a high risk sexual activity in itself. I would think that any kind of douche or contraceptive method for anal sexual activity would not be safe and carry a higher risk of infection that the usual vaginal sexual activity with penetrative sex with another individual, in this case your husband. I recommend that you visit with a gynecologist or a sexologist to find advise regarding any potential sexual problems you may have. I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
