HI
Thank for asking to HCM
You are under the wrong impression when you know about the PCR then you should also know the exact mechanism of infection, any way, you have gone very early for PCR test, immune deficiency syndrome infection sets up in the human body (Sero-conversion) after 4 to 5 weeks of exposure (With the +ve infected patient) and that first detected in serum analysis for antibody, you have to wait for few weeks then go for conventional antibody test first, and for the confirmation, PCR is the option either for negative or positive antibody test, this the method for testing, I hope this information helps you, take care and have nice day.
