DEAR SIR/MADAM

THE IMPAIRED FASTING GLUCOSE IS MAINLY DUE TO TWO REASONS.

1. INCREASED HEPATIC GLUCOSE OUTPUT.
2. DECREASED BASAL INSULIN SECRETION.

THESE MIGHT BE DUE TO UNOPPOSED ACTION ON GLUCOGON HORMONE.

TAKING METFORMIN 850 MG THREE TIMES A DAY DECREASES THE HEPATIC GLUCOSE OUTPUT BUT NEVER INCREASES THE BASAL INSULIN SECRETION.

WHAT IS SUGGEST IS TO MAKE METFORMIN 500 MG TWO TIMES A DAY WITH TAB. GLIMEPERIDE 1 MG ONE TIME A DAY.
