Hello Geza, Thanks for posting, Betacorton has the active ingredient salicylic acid/Halcinonid which is used as the treatment of choice for psoriasis. Alternative treatment of psoriasis will be based on the following topical creams/lotions/solutions which are steroid-based creams (e.g hydrocortisone), Calcipotriene (vitamin D related and proven to be effective treatment), Coal-tar ointments and shampoos, Coal-tar ointments and shampoos etc Unfortunately most of them are prescription medications but you can get steroid-based creams OTC. I do how ever suggest that you see a dermatologist for opinion before you can continue with treatment as there can be up to date treatment options for psoriasis that the son s previous might not be aware of.
