Altered Shape Of Mastoid On One Side. Occasional Headaches. Need To Be Concerned?

Hi
I noticed for a year now that my right mastoid's shape is different than my left one. When i feel my left mastoid it is smooth but my right one has a very rough surface with gaps in it. I was wondering is this an issue i should pay attention to? Also i noticed that the gaps seems to grow deeper every time i lack sleep and grow shallow again when i catch up on sleep. I have experienced little headaches but not much.

thanks

Hi,

Based on details one need to rule out R) mastoiditis, which can also produce occasional headache.

You may require ENT consultation , and CT temporal bones with brain to rule out structural lesion.

Hope this helps you

Regards
