Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Adenoid and tonsils getting enlarged and infected is very common among children. If she is having the symptoms mentioned above, better get the tonsils and adenoids removed, as the function of both these tissue are over by the second year. This is one of the commonest surgery performed by an ENT specialist. Both will be removed under general anaesthesia in the same sitting, through the mouth. No scar will be seen from outside. The more you delay, the child can develop other complications like ear infections, sinus infections and poor development of the face.
